Presbyterian Support Otago supporter development manager Jude McCracken (left) accepts presents from Fairfield Community Market organiser Nicole Broekhuyse and her son Riley Broekhuyse (11) in central Dunedin on Friday.
Miss Broekhuyse said profits from the monthly market at the Fairfield Community Hall were used to buy items to give to a range of Dunedin charities.
“I like to give – giving is my passion.”
Mrs McCracken said social workers identified parents in need and gave them the items to give to their children as Christmas presents.
Christmas was a “challenging time of year” for many of its clients and it was “heartening” to receive help from the community.
The next market is on at the hall from 10am to 3pm on Sunday.
