Workshop on musical walking holiday

A workshop in South Dunedin will outline a musical walking holiday.
Sing the Camino Tours director Jessie Vintila travels to northern Spain every year, taking people who love walking and singing on a beautiful stretch of the World Heritage-listed pilgrim track El Camino.
She will present a workshop at the South Dunedin Hall on Saturday, February 4, from 10am-1pm.
An Australian, Ms Vintila has directed choirs for 21 years, and she runs five community choirs around northern New South Wales.
Sing the Camino covers a 220km stretch of the ancient pilgrim track, from Ponferrada to Santiago de Compostela, constituting the last section of the Camino Frances. The route was featured in the 2010 film The Way starring Martin Sheen.
After each day of self-paced walking, the group gathers in the evenings to sing and feast together, and, some nights, local Spanish musicians perform songs from the folk traditions of the region.
