The Voice column: West Harbour Community Board chairwoman Francisca Griffin.
The West Harbour Community Awards 2020 is the third annual presentation of these awards by our community board.
Board member Ange McErlane is spearheading this wonderful campaign.
These awards are an opportunity for residents of the West Harbour to nominate individuals, community groups or a local business that they feel should be recognised for their activities in our community.
This year’s categories are:
Individual – someone who has contributed to the cultural, environmental, educational, or emotional wellbeing of our community.
Groups/societies/clubs – A community organisation, club or society that has made a contribution to our community for the benefit of others. It could be a regular event for the community, or be something particular that contributes to our community.
Business/commercial – A local business or commercial entity that provides a contribution in the form of support to a West Harbour community organisation.
It could be a contribution of time, financial support, or in other ways such as providing volunteers or administrative support.
Nominations are now open.
If you live in the West Harbour, please send yours to firstname.lastname@example.org, stating the name of your nominee, and an outline of what they have contributed.
You can also call Ange on (03) 472-7873.
Nominations close September 27, at 5pm, and the awards ceremony will be held in October. Each category has a champion. All nominations will be recognised.
