Dreary to dazzling

Just a quick note from us this month as we gear up for a big 2017. Many of you may have heard about or seen the beautiful new mural being painted on the toilet block at Walton Park Recreational Reserve in Fairfield. This mural, by Dunedin artist Tessa Petley, is the product of community collaboration between the Saddle Hill Community Board, children from Fairfield School, DCC’s Parks and Recreation department and Keep Dunedin Beautiful — and the outcome is just wonderful. Tessa’s design features native trees and birds and really brightens up this once-dreary building. One wall is completed and another is under way — so do pay a visit to check out Tessa’s progress and see the finished artwork later next week. Keep Dunedin Beautiful’s AGM is also coming upon November 21. We will have a short presentation on the Love Food Hate Waste campaign, followed by the AGM proceedings.
We always welcome new members who are interested in keeping our city beautiful.
