Shop closes will not reopen and five staff have been made redundant.
Postie chief executive Linda Leonard said the the permanent closure of the shop in Gordon Rd was not due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Our store opened in the early 2000s. Following the fire at the Postie Mosgiel store in October last year, our search for new premises that suited our business has been unsuccessful .. regrettably, five staff from our Mosgiel store have been made redundant. Our Mosgiel store staff were swiftly redeployed to our Dunedin store after the fire occurred, however this arrangement has not been viable in the long term.”
She thanked the Mosgiel community for its support and looked forward to continuing to serve them from the Dunedin store and online.
