Table tennis has returned to Mosgiel.

Organised by June King, players meet for two hours each Tuesday at Taieri Bowling Club during the winter months to play.

The season was due to start in late March but was put off until this week due to Covid-19.

King said there were typically about 15 people who played each week new faces.

“They are a good bunch of people,” she said.

This is the third year she has been running the sessions, since moving to Mosgiel.

Table tennis was a game that anyone, no matter their age, could play at their own pace, she said.

It was great for mobility, reflexes and movement.

“It’s a thinking game.

“And we have fun.”

While the sessions were just for adults, King was looking into introducing a time for children to play.

“Everyone is so pleased to be back at the tables.

“We’re fighting fit and ready to hit.”

They will play until October.

Noeline Davies, of Mosgiel, started playing last year.

She saw an advertisement for the group and thought “that’s for me”.

“I love the company and I really love the game.”
