Blast from the past

Kaikorai Valley College deputy principal John Downes (centre) and year 7 pupils Daimon Hughes (11) and Abby Cockill (12) dress in uniforms from the past before the school’s 60th anniversary celebrations this weekend. A 60th reunion assembly for current and former pupils will be held on Friday, followed by an information gathering in the evening. On Saturday afternoon there will be photos and a tour of the school and an evening function at the Dunedin Town Hall. “A lot of people want to see the school and see how it’s changed,” Mr Downes said. About 300 people, including some from Canada, Australia, Britain and the United States, are expected to attend throughout the weekend. REPORT, PHOTO: JESSICA WILSON
