Award makes Dunedin store Mega-happy

Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin has been named 2016 Mitre 10 Mega Trade Store of the Year at the national retailer’s annual awards dinner in Auckland.
Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin Group chief executive Neil Finn-House said the national award was due to his Dunedin team’s hard work, attention to detail, focus on product quality and understanding of the local market.
He also paid tribute to trade manager Chris Bremner, who had ‘‘done an outstanding job leading our knowledgeable and committed team’’, Mr Finn-House said.
Mitre 10 chief executive Neil Cowie said the store had done well to win the award because the customer service category was always very competitive.
The Dunedin store’s ‘‘willingness to go the distance’’ when it came to customer service made it stand above the rest.
Dunedin store owner/operator Martin Dippie said the store’s trade offering was a top priority.
‘‘We’ve always had a very competitive trade offering.’’
The store had always emphasised being price-competitive as part of customer service standards, Mr Dippie said.
‘‘It’s about doing the best for our customers and that starts with the right team who are knowledgeable and customer-focused, supported by a wide stock range, an ability to source any product quickly when needed and higher standards for the timber and products we stock,’’ Mr Dippie said.
