Amsterdam-based Dutch-New Zealand trio My Baby are bringing their roots-driven, hypnotic dance music to Kiwi audiences for the fifth time.

The band, which has embarked on a 10-date national tour, will play in Dunedin at The Cook this Saturday night, February 29.

The tour is to celebrate the release of the band’s new live album.

My Baby has a formidable reputation as a live act, with a sound that brings together a broad range of influences, from gospel and blues to ’70s funk, African, Moroccan and Indian sounds.

My Baby, comprising New Zealander Daniel “Da Freez” Johnson (guitar) Joost Sheik van Dijck (drums/vocals), and Cato van Dijck (lead vocals/guitar), have been performing across the globe since 2012.

Their most recent appearance in New Zealand was at Womad in 2018, where they received rave reviews.
