New Zealand alt-folk musician Reb Fountain is set to perform in Dunedin on Sunday.
Christchurch-based Fountain will be joined by multi-instrumentalist and album producer Dave Khan for the show, to be held from 7pm at Dog With Two Tails.
Fountain launched the nationwide campaign for #saveourvenues to help ensure the survival of music venues post Covid-19, so artists would have places to play and communities had places to gather to listen to music.
“Now that we are there, I’m doing a whistle-stop set of shows to try and help venues get people back in them.”
She vowed to return to Dunedin to perform with a full band to play tracks from her newly-released self-titled album, in October or November.
The album has received rave reviews, being described as “a powerful artistic flex”, and having “Nick Cave running through its veins”.
